How much are the fines for overdue library materials?

Bortz Library does not charge fines or late fees for overdue materials. However, if you have materials that are extremely overdue, your account may be blocked, and you will be unable to check out additional library materials until the overdue items are returned.

Students may renew their library materials in the following ways:

• To renew online: 1) select "View your Library Record" from Quick Links; 2) log in using your HSC username (without the @hsc.edu) and password; 3) open the "Checkouts" tab; 4) check the box next to the item(s) you'd like to renew and click the "Renew" button.
• Call the main circulation desk at 434-223-7227 to renew over the phone.
• If you are on campus, you may renew in person.
